CIPP Pipe Lining in PG County & Montgomery County

Cracked, corroded, or root-damaged sewer pipes don’t always need to be replaced — they need to be rehabilitated. Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining is one of the most effective trenchless methods available today, and it’s what we do best at East Coast Drain and Trenchless Sewer Repair.

Our Services

What Is CIPP Pipe Lining?

CIPP stands for Cured-In-Place Pipe lining. It’s a trenchless rehabilitation method where a flexible, resin-saturated liner is inserted into your damaged pipe through an existing access point — typically a cleanout or manhole — and then cured (hardened) in place to form a brand new pipe within the old one.

The result is a seamless, jointless, corrosion-resistant pipe that restores full flow capacity and structural integrity — without a single shovel hitting the ground.

CIPP lining is suitable for pipes ranging from 4 to 12 inches in diameter, making it ideal for both residential sewer lines and commercial or light municipal applications.

Our CIPP Lining Process

1

Camera Inspection

Every lining job starts with a thorough CCTV inspection of your pipe. This tells us the exact condition of the pipe, the location of any damage, and whether lining is the right solution. Our IMS robotic cutter can also be deployed at this stage to clear obstructions and prepare the pipe surface before lining.

2

Pipe Preparation

Before the liner goes in, the pipe is cleaned and cleared — typically using high-pressure hydro jetting to remove any buildup, roots, or debris that could interfere with liner adhesion.

3

Liner Installation

We use premium MaxLiner fiberglass liners — one of the most trusted products in the trenchless industry. The resin-saturated liner is inserted into the host pipe using either our inversion drum system or our pull-in-place system, depending on the pipe configuration and job requirements.

4

Curing

Once in position, the liner is cured using our blue light UV curing system. UV curing is fast, precise, and produces a consistently strong bond throughout the liner. The cured liner becomes a rigid, smooth new pipe that bonds to the interior of the host pipe.

5

Final Inspection

After curing, we conduct a post-installation camera inspection to confirm the liner is fully seated, smooth, and performing correctly. You get a fully rehabilitated pipe — verified on camera before we leave.

What Pipe Problems Does CIPP Lining Fix?

CIPP lining is effective for a wide range of pipe conditions, including:

Cracks and Fractures

From ground movement or age

Root Intrusion

The liner seals joints and eliminates entry points for roots

Corrosion and Deterioration

Especially common in aging cast iron and clay pipes

Joint Displacement

Where pipe sections have shifted slightly out of alignment

Minor Pipe Collapse

Where the pipe retains enough structural support for a liner to be installed

For pipes that are fully collapsed or severely misaligned, pipe bursting may be the better solution.

CIPP Lining for Residential & Commercial Properties

Residential Pipe Lining

For homeowners in PG County and Montgomery County, CIPP lining is the preferred solution for aging sewer lines. The homes and neighborhoods throughout this region — particularly in areas like Hyattsville, Takoma Park, Wheaton, and Beltsville — have a high concentration of cast iron and vitrified clay sewer pipes that are decades old and deteriorating. Lining extends their lifespan by 50 years or more without disturbing your landscaping, driveway, or foundation.

Commercial Pipe Lining

We also serve commercial property owners, property managers, and light municipal clients across the DC Metro area. CIPP is well-suited for commercial applications where minimizing downtime and avoiding surface disruption is critical — restaurants, office buildings, retail centers, and multi-unit residential properties.
